Jim Simon joined Akcelerant Advisors as its President in April of 2012. Jim was most recently the Senior Vice President of Loss & Risk Mitigation at Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union in Tampa, FL. In this role, Jim successfully architected and managed Suncoast's revitalization of its collection and fraud prevention activities in the face of the worst economic downturns in the organization's history. Prior to this role, Jim was the Vice President of Business Member Lending at Suncoast.
Prior to joining Suncoast, Jim worked for Advanta Corporation (provider of small ticket leasing and business credit cards) in a Credit Administration role that reported directly to the Chief Credit Officer. Prior to Advanta, he held numerous small business commercial lending roles at a number of community banks located in Southern New Jersey. All of these roles helped Jim to hone his credit analytical, lending, and risk management skills.
Jim received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Gettysburg College in June of 1984. He obtained his MBA from Rutgers University in January of 1989. He achieved his Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE) designation during 2008.
